Mexico dominates Brazil

The final leg of the Mexican National Soccer team tour against the Brazilian National team was a great success.  The Mexicans playing in front of pro Mexican crowd did not disappoint the fans.  The crowd of 84,516 was the largest soccer crowd ever in the state of Texas.
The Brazilians apply pressure in the Mexican defense for the early part of the first half.  Most of the first half possessions were played in the Mexican zone.  The Mexican defense with stood the offensive pressure of the Brazilian attacks. 
Mexico took advantage of Brazil’s mistakes. At the 22 minute mark of the first half Giovani Dos Santos was able to angle a shot on goal past Rafael to score the first goal of the game.  Ten minutes later Brazil committed a questionable foul inside the penalty box. 

Javier Hernandez scored on the penalty kick to give Mexico a commanding 2-0 lead.  Despite being the aggressor in the first half, Brazil was in a deep hole.  The Brazilians had 7 shots on goals to only one by the Mexicans.  Brazil had 5 corner kicks in the first half Mexico only had 2.
Alexandre Pato had an opportunity to get Brazil on the board at the 75 minute mark, but miss an open net.  Mexico earned the 2-0 win over Brazil and improves their record to 10 wins 21 losses and 6 ties.  Brazil’s coach Mano Menezes said, ”Mexico took advantage of our errors.  Our players need to think faster and roll the ball with more agility”

When asked will this be the roster to play in World Cup qualifying, Mexico coach Jose Manuel “Chepo” de la Torre said, “I can rush and this is a preparation time for us.  I observe games and what is going on with the players, but I keep waiting for the right time to find the roster.
